Hoping to get back to shooting again soon. My battery gave out so I had to order a new one and I'm not sure when it'll get here.
I went to spend the weekend with my Dad, step mom and step brother and we got to go over to my Pawpaw IJ's (Dad's dad) for dinner. It was amazing. Great food and great stories. Pawpaw IJ is battling with lung cancer, but lately he has been feeling a lot better, so I'm grateful for that. I haven't ever gotten to really meet him until this past Father's Day, so its very rewarding to spend whatever time he has left with him.
I desperately wanted my camera to be able to capture the moments. There was amazing natural light coming in from the windows that lit up his face. Major photo opportunities that went undiscovered. Stupid battery.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Remember to always spend quality time with the ones you love.
XOXO

Editing
So, you would probably figure by now that I'm good with editing, but no. I'm slowly learning more and more and therefore seeing just how much I don't know. I'm getting the hang of using more natural tones to make colors pop but still look realistic. Take this photo as an example:

It goes, original (SOOC), the first edit I tried, and the final. The first edit looks obviously horrendous. I don't know why I though the blue and purplish tones that stand out looked okay. I'm learning curves a little better now and how to use them to bring out the natural tones that are already within the photo. Plus, his skin looks more natural. He naturally has an olive skin tone. The light from the window in front of him makes part of his face brighter, but I love how you can still see the olive in his skin instead of being completely washed out like the middle photo. I'm pretty happy with the turn out. Here's to learning new things! :)

Took photos of Danza today and some of him skating. I'm not great at skateboarding photography as you can tell. I'm trying guys.

Little update: We've moved finally from Pine Ridge, SD to Tupelo, MS where these photos were taken! We are so happy to be here. Just got here on Tuesday, so we're still settling in, but it has been great so far :D
